Inland Empire --

David Lynch, the creator of such mind bending
works as ERASERHEAD and LOST HIGHWAY, delivers his most avant-garde,
abstract, and impenetrable vision yet. A three hour fever nightmare of
a motion picture, INLAND EMPIRE takes the basic structure of Lynch's
2001 masterpiece, MULHOLLAND DRIVE, and spins it even further out of
control. A blonde actress is preparing for her biggest role yet, but
when she finds herself falling for her co star, she realizes that her
life is beginning to mimic the fictional film that they're shooting.
Adding to her confusion is the revelation that the current film is a
remake of a doomed Polish production, 47, which was never finished due
to an unspeakable tragedy. And that's the only the beginning. Soon, a
seemingly endless onslaught of indescribably bizarre situations flashes
across the screen: a sitcom featuring humans in bunny suits, a parallel
story set in a wintry Poland, a houseful of dancing streetwalkers,
screwdrivers in stomachs, menacing Polish carnies, and much, much more.
By the time the film's electrifying closing credit sequence arrives,
even diehard Lynch fans will be gasping for air. What most glaringly
differentiates INLAND EMPIRE from Lynch's previous work is the format
on which it was shot. This is the first time that he has chosen to
shoot on digital video, as opposed to film, and while the decision is
jarring at first, the grainy imagery nonetheless casts a creepy,
haunting spell. Laura Dern's multi fractured performance is downright
heroic. She gives the film the human grounding that it so desperately
needs. Not for the fragile or timid, INLAND EMPIRE is a full blown
assault to the senses.

Evan Almighty--

Funnyman Steve Carell is at his hilarious best
when his simple wish to change the world turns into a baffling request
from God and turns his seemingly perfect life upside down. With the
help of his family and a comical cast of animals, Evan's unbelievable
adventure leads to laugh out loud (LOL) hilarity.

Rated PG for mile rude humor and some peril.

28 Weeks Later-

The follow up to the hugely successful 28 Days
Later, picks up six months after the rage virus has annihilated the
British Isles. The US Army declares that the war against infection has
been won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin; but
they could not be more wrong. As the first wave of refugees arrive, and
a family is reunited, a terrible secret is revealed: The virus is not
yet dead, and this time, it is more dangerous than ever.

Rated R for strong violence and gore, language and some sexuality/nudity.

Reign Over Me --

Adam Sandler, Don Cheadle, Jada Pinkett Smith
and Liv Tyler star in this heart rending story about Charlie Fineman,
who has slipped away from reality after the sudden loss of his wife and
children. But Charlie’s life takes a turn for the better when he runs
into his old college roommate Alan Johnson, whose life is torn between
the demands of career and family. Their renewed friendship rekindles
their long forgotten bond, and both men emerge enriched and
enlightened.

Rated R for language and some sexual references.

Black Sheep --

An experiment in genetic engineering turns
harmless sheep into blood thirsty killers that terrorize a sprawling
New Zealand farm.

Not Rated.

1408-

Based on a story by Stephen King, the Dolphin
Hotel hides a deadly secret; a long closed room so evil, no guest has
ever survived an hour within its walls. But when a skeptical writer
Mike Enslin defies the grave warnings of the Dolphin’s manager and
insists on spending the night, 1408 reopens for business.

Rated PG-13 for thematic material including disturbing sequences of violence and terror, frightening images and language.

3:10 to Yuma (1957)-

When stubborn farmer, Dan Evans, attempts to
bring wanted criminal, Ben Wade to the authorities in Yuma and collect
the reward, he's in for quite a challenge. Desperate, the captive
criminal offers the poor farmer $10,000 to set him free. While waiting
for the train, the two men engage in a brutal battle of wills and as
Evans eludes Wade’s gang of miscreant thugs, he must fight his own
moral battle and catch the 3:10 to Yuma. A poignant and chilling
western, 3:10 To Yuma evokes more thought and emotion with its timing
and clever scripting than most traditional shot gun riddled Westerns
ever achieve. Director Delmer Daves teams up with pulp writer Elmore
Leonard, who would go on to script Get Shorty and Jackie Brown, to
deliver this sharp and biting western starring
Van Heflin and Glenn Ford.

Not Rated.
