Dreamgirls
Following the rise of a trio of women during the turbulent late 1960’s and 1970’s; Effie, Deena and Lorrell who have formed a promising girl group called The Dreamettes. At a talent competition, they are discovered by an ambitious manager named Curtis Taylor Jr., who offers them the opportunity of a lifetime: to become the back up singers for headliner James “Thunder” Early. Curtis gradually takes control of the girls’ look and sound, eventually giving them their own shot in the spotlight as The Dreams. That spotlight, however, begins to narrow in on Deena, finally pushing the less attractive Effie out altogether. Though the Dreams become a crossover phenomenon, they soon realize that the cost of fame and fortune may be higher than they ever imagined.
Rated PG-13 for language, some sexuality and drug content

Alpha Dog
In the sprawling, privileged neighborhoods around L.A., bored teenagers with too much time and too much money string one hazy day into another, looking for the next thrill; doing suburban imitations of the thug life they idolize from rap music, video games and movies. When you're living without any consequences, anything can happen. And in the hot California summer six years ago, something did. Inspired by true events, Alpha Dog follows three fateful days when the lives of a group of Southern California teens suddenly dead ended. Johnny Truelove controls the drugs on the well manicured streets of his neighborhood. Where Johnny goes, the party, the girls, and his loyal gang follow. When he's double crossed over missing deal money by raging hothead Jake, Johnny and his gang impulsively kidnap Jake's little brother, Zack holding him as a marker and heading to Palm Springs. With no parents in sight, they grow used to having the kid around, and Zack enjoys an illicit summer fantasy of drinking, girls and new experiences. Out in the desert, Johnny and his boys lose sight that the kid is a hostage who can't just be neatly returned. As the days tick by, the options of how to get themselves out of their situation start to disappear. Good times turn bad and bad turns worse as Johnny finds himself out of his league with no idea how to fix it; leading all these players toward a shocking conclusion they never saw coming.
Rated R for pervasive drug use and language, strong violence, sexuality and nudity.

Little Children
Set in the imploding minefields of modern suburbia and following several inhabitants of a small American town as they fumble their way through adulthood. Numb to life housewife and mother Sarah Pierce finds an outlet for her yearning in gorgeous househusband Brad Adamson, who is crippled with insecurity over the fact that his perfect wife, Kathy is the family breadwinner. When Sarah and Brad meet at the local playground one afternoon, a passionate affair is sparked. In a further attempt to reclaim his youthful fire, Brad joins a night football league with Larry Hedges, a former cop who has begun to harass a convicted sex offender, Ronnie J. McGorvey. These troubled lives eventually collide, causing each individual to take full responsibility for their not so responsible actions. A bitingly funny, and nakedly honest, critique of middle class dysfunction, with a cast as universally superb.
Rated R for language, some violence and sexual content.

Happily N'Ever After
Once upon a time in Fairy Tale Land, the age old balance between good and evil has been thrown out of whack. Frieda, Cinderella's power mad stepmother, has formed an unholy alliance of evil to take on the good guys. With her own fairy tale spinning wildly out of control, Cinderella is forced to shed her damsel in distress trappings in order to seize control of her own destiny and lead the resistance without her Prince Charming. In a world of happy endings gone wrong, the race for control of the kingdom is on, with the fate of the venerable storyline 'Happily N'Ever After' hanging in the balance. Inspired by the most beloved of fables, this animated feature film is a satirical retelling of the classic story of Cinderella.
Rated PG for some mild action and rude humor.

Who the $#%& is Jackson Pollock?
When Teri Horton, a 73 year old former long-haul truck driver with an eighth grade education bought a painting in a thrift shop for five dollars, she didn't know that it would pit her against the most powerful people in the art community; and perhaps forever change the way art is authenticated around the world. Who The #$&% Is Jackson Pollock? is a rollicking adventure that documents a 15 year war with the art world's inner circle. It lifts the veil on how art is bought and sold in America and introduces audiences to the funny, profane and utterly unforgettable Teri Horton.
Rated PG-13 for some language

When she meets a mentally damaged man and a tall ghost like woman, the line between her imagination and reality quickly disappears. Tideland is a spine chilling tale from the visionary mind of acclaimed director Terry Gilliam.

American Hardcore
Generally unheralded at the time, the early 1980s hardcore punk rock scene gave birth to much of the rock music and culture that followed. There would be no Nirvana, Beastie Boys or Red Hot Chili Peppers were it not for hardcore pioneers such as Black Flag, Bad Brains and Minor Threat. Hardcore was more than music; it was a social movement created by Reagan era misfit kids. The participants constituted a tribe unto themselves˜some finding a voice, others an escape in the hard edged music. And while some sought a better world, others were just angry and wanted to raise hell. American Hardcore traces this lost subculture, from its early roots in 1980 to its extinction
in 1986.
Rated R for pervasive language including sex and drug references
